Social Media!
My boss is amused and amazed that instead of emailing the Craigslist help desk yesterday when we were having issues with one of our job listings I sent a tweet to Craig Newmark, the founder of Craigslist, who promptly tweeted me back to email him at his own email address to fix the problem.
My boss (incredulous): “Jenna says you talked to Craig Newmark yesterday on Twitter. Is this true?”
Me: “Yeah, I knew he was on Twitter so I just did a search for him and sent him a tweet asking what was the best way to contact CL to resolve an issue. He gave me his email address and told me to contact him”
My boss (laughing uncontrollably): “I cannot believe you contacted Craig Newmark about a simple posting issue.”
Me: “Well… I figured it was the best way to get it worked out.”
It’s kind of fun seeing someone who is still new to social media constantly discovering what can be done with it.
